Earth Day 2026 Alewife Path Clean-up & CSO Tour

Join us at 10 am on Saturday morning, April 25th

for our Earth Day Alewife Greenway Path Clean-Up and CSO Tour.

We will gather trash along the path next to the brook. While we’re there, we’ll tour the Combined Sewer Outfalls and the Concrete Sewage Death Channel.

We’ll discuss what we’re doing together, to make Alewife Brook fishable, boatable, and safe, for the enjoyment of all.

Free Save the Alewife Brook t-shirts for folks who sign up for the clean-up, while supplies last.
  • Bring gloves, water, & garbage picker, if you have one. We’ll provide trash bags.
  • Meet at Bicentennial Park at Mass Ave and Boulevard Road at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 25th
  • Free T-shirts for volunteers to help spread the word!

Participants take individual responsibility for their own safety, avoiding touching any suspect items.

One Response

  1. Along the brook drainage channel, across from St. Paul Cemetery, there are some very large items. I will help you guys lug those items (I am a professional mover) up and out of the wooded embankment (and over the barrier fence), if you guys can provide a truck and if you have a place to dump these items. There is a queen size mattress(?!) that has been there for more than a year (rained on, buried in snow and ice, etc.), there is at least one shopping carriage, there are plastic totes and pieces of luggage . . . it is utter chaos. It is not an appropriate place for “Dirty Mike and the boys” to be putting some “d’s” in some “a’s.”
You may call me or email me to coordinate. I’m at 781-316-8344 (landline, no SMS), and at joe@metrosexualmovers.com
P.S. My t-shirt size is Large.
