On Alewife Brook, behind Dilboy Park, under the Broadway Bridge, kayaking through a mass of garbage that was dislodged from the Tannery Brook snag. It was smelly and gross, containing “floatables” from Davis Square toilets. This smelly, gooey blob is traveling slowly towards the Mystic River. But it is stuck now under the Broadway Bridge. Stick your paddle into it and hardly anything moves. This was the grossest thing we encountered between the Mystic River and the Alewife Stormwater Wetlands in Cambridge.
